Creating Events With The Event Calendar

The Events Calendar is a popular WordPress plugin for managing and showcasing events. Whether you’re planning a small gathering or a large conference, this tool simplifies the process. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you create events seamlessly.

Note: To configure the event system in the Eventchamp theme, navigate to Eventchamp > Theme Options > General. Under the “General” section, locate the event system settings and select The Event Calendar. This will enable the desired functionality for managing events.

Step – 1 Install and Activate The Events Calendar Plugin #

  1. Go to your WordPress Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Plugins > Add New.
  3. Search for “The Events Calendar.”
  4. Click Install Now and then Activate once installed.

Step – 2 Configure Basic Settings #

  1. Head to Events > Settings in the dashboard.
  2. Adjust the following:
    • General Settings: Set your time zone, event location, and date format.
    • Display Settings: Choose how events will appear on your website (e.g., list view, calendar view).
    • Integration: If needed, sync with third-party tools or import events.
  3. Click Save Changes to finalize your preferences.

Step – 3 Add a New Event #

  1. Navigate to Events > Add New.
  2. Fill in the event details:
    • Event Title: Give your event a catchy name.
    • Description: Add a detailed description, including highlights or special guests. Use formatting to make it reader-friendly.

Step – 4 Set Event Details #

Under the event editor, you’ll find several options:

  • Event Date and Time: Specify start and end dates and times.
  • Event Location: Add the venue name and address (integrated with Google Maps for easy navigation).
  • Organizer Details: Include the organizer’s name, email, and phone number.
  • Event Website: Link to external pages if necessary.

Step – 5 Add Tickets (Optional) #

If you’re using a ticketing add-on like Event Tickets, you can:

  1. Click the Tickets section in the event editor.
  2. Set ticket types, prices, and availability.
  3. Enable RSVP or paid ticket options.

Step – 6 Customize the Event Appearance #

  1. Use the Featured Image section to upload an eye-catching event image.
  2. Preview how your event will appear on the calendar or event list.

Step – 7 Publish Your Event #

  1. Once all details are filled in, click Publish.
  2. View your event live by clicking View Event on the confirmation page.

Step – 8 Manage and Update Events #

  1. To edit an event, go to Events > All Events, find the event, and click Edit.
  2. Update the details and click Update to save changes.
