Setting clear fundraising goals helps motivate donors and provides transparency about your organization’s progress.
GiveWP allows you to define specific campaign goals and automatically track donations, donor counts, or recurring contributions.
The Faun WordPress Theme integrates seamlessly with GiveWP’s goal system and visually displays progress on your campaign pages.
Open Your Campaign Settings #
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to GiveWP → Campaigns.
- Select the campaign you want to edit or create a new one.
- Under the Campaign Details section, locate the Goal Settings area.
Choose a Goal Type #
GiveWP supports several types of goals depending on how you measure success:
- Amount Raised – Tracks the total amount of money donated.
- Number of Donations – Counts each individual donation regardless of amount.
- Number of Donors – Tracks unique supporters contributing to the campaign.
- Recurring Donation Goals – (if Recurring Donations add-on is active) Tracks ongoing contributions or active subscriptions.
Choose the goal type that aligns best with your campaign’s purpose. For most causes, “Amount Raised” is the most effective option.
Define the Goal Value #
- In the Goal Amount field, enter your fundraising target (for example, “5000”).
- Make sure the currency matches your active payment gateway settings.
- Save or publish the campaign to apply your goal.
The progress bar on your campaign page will automatically update as donations come in.
Display Progress on Your Site #
Campaign progress can appear automatically or be embedded manually in different parts of your site.
Default Campaign Page:
Each campaign includes a built-in progress bar and goal display on its public page. Faun styles this section to match your theme’s design.
Shortcodes and Blocks:
You can display progress anywhere using GiveWP shortcodes or blocks:
[give_goal id="CAMPAIGN_ID"]
Replace CAMPAIGN_ID with your actual campaign ID.
This shortcode can be added to any page, post, or Elementor section.
Elementor Integration:
Use a Shortcode widget inside Elementor to display the progress bar in home sections, sidebars, or custom layouts.
Monitor Goal Progress and Reports #
- Go to GiveWP → Reports to see total donations, number of donors, and performance trends.
- Each campaign has its own metrics, which update automatically.
- Use filters to review performance by date range or donation source.
- If you have recurring donations enabled, recurring totals appear as a separate category.
Adjusting or Completing Goals #
- You can edit or increase your goal at any time in the campaign settings.
- When a goal is reached, the progress bar will show 100%, but donations remain open by default.
- To stop accepting donations, change the campaign status to Archived or disable the form within the campaign.
- Updating the goal will not reset the raised total; progress recalculates automatically.
Tips for Better Engagement #
- Use clear, realistic goals that are achievable within a defined time frame.
- Display partial progress early — visible success encourages more donations.
- Pair your goal display with emotional storytelling and impact visuals.
- If you run multiple campaigns, feature one primary goal at the top of your homepage.
