How to Feature a Campaign on Your Homepage

2 min read

The Faun WordPress Theme includes a built-in Elementor widget named “GiveWP Campaign Forms” that allows you to display donation campaigns directly on your homepage or any custom page layout.

This widget is fully integrated with GiveWP, letting you showcase campaigns in grid layouts, feature sections, or call-to-action areas with complete design control.

Add the GiveWP Campaign Forms Widget #

  1. Edit your homepage with Elementor.
  2. In the Elementor sidebar, search for “GiveWP Campaign Forms”.
  3. Drag and drop the widget onto your desired section of the page.
  4. The widget will automatically load your published campaigns from GiveWP.

You can feature one or multiple campaigns using the options below.

Configure General Options #

In the General Options panel, you can control which campaigns appear and how they are ordered.

  • Offset – Skips a specific number of campaigns. Useful if you’re featuring multiple campaign widgets on one page.
  • Count – Defines how many campaigns to display (e.g., 3).
  • Order – Choose between ASC (ascending) or DESC (descending) order.
  • Order Type – Determines sorting criteria:
    • Added Date – by publish date
    • Title – alphabetical order
    • Random – random order for variety
  • Include Posts – Display specific campaigns by entering their IDs (e.g., 12,15,20).
  • Exclude Posts – Hide specific campaigns by entering their IDs.

Use Count = 3 and Order = DESC to feature your latest campaigns dynamically on the homepage.

Adjust Design Options #

The Design Options panel controls layout and visual presentation.

Layout Type and Style #

  • Type – Choose between:
    • Grid – displays campaigns in multiple columns.
    • Carousel (if available) – scrollable horizontal layout.
  • Style – Select from predefined layout designs (Style 1 – 5).
Each style adjusts typography, button layout, and progress bar appearance.

Columns and Spacing #

  • Desktop / Tablet / Mobile Column – Define how many campaigns display per device type.
  • Column Space – Set spacing (in pixels) between campaign cards.
  • Pagination – Enable if you want to load more campaigns on separate pages.

Visibility Toggles #

Toggle individual elements on or off:

  • Title – Show or hide campaign titles.
  • Image – Display featured image or cover photo.
  • Category – Show the campaign’s assigned GiveWP category.
  • Excerpt – Display a short description.
  • Progress Bar – Show progress toward the goal.
  • Goal – Display goal amount or donor count.
  • Button – Enable the “Donate Now” or custom button.

Configure Button Settings #

The button allows visitors to access donation forms directly from the homepage.

  • Button Type
    • Open Modal – Opens the donation form in a popup window.
    • Link to Page – Redirects to the campaign’s page.
  • Button Text – Set a custom label (default: “Donate Now”).
  • Button Style – Choose from Faun’s pre-styled options (Style 1–5).
  • Button Skin – Light or Dark theme to match the background.
  • Button Size – Small, Medium, or Large.
  • Button Rounded – Enables rounded corners.
  • Button Filled – Makes the button solid instead of outlined.
  • Button Icon Status – Show or hide an icon beside the button text.

For best results, use Open Modal with a compact button style for smooth user experience.

  • Count: 3
  • Order: DESC
  • Order Type: Added Date
  • Type: Grid
  • Style: 2 or 3 (best fit for homepage grids)
  • Progress Bar: Yes
  • Goal: Yes
  • Button Type: Open Modal
  • Button Style: Style 4
  • Button Size: Small

These settings produce a clean, balanced campaign showcase consistent with Faun’s demo layouts.

Publish and Test #

  1. Click Update to save your Elementor layout.
  2. Preview your homepage to confirm layout and campaign visibility.
  3. Test the Donate Now buttons to ensure the modal or campaign page opens correctly.
  4. Adjust spacing or column counts if your design requires more balance.

Tips #

  • Keep the number of featured campaigns between 3–6 for visual clarity.
  • Use recent or high-impact campaigns to encourage engagement.
  • Combine with a “Join Us” or “Become a Donor” call-to-action below the grid.
  • If you update or archive campaigns, the widget will automatically refresh based on your chosen query settings.
