2 min read

If you have encountered an issue with updating through WordPress or if you prefer to update manually, you can follow the steps below.

Step 1 Download the Update Files: You can download the installation folders from CodeCanyon. For a detailed explanation, you can refer to this article.

Step 2 Connect to Your WordPress Site via FTP:

  • Open your FTP client, such as FileZilla.
  • Enter your FTP credentials:
    • Host: Your website’s FTP hostname or IP address.
    • Username: Your FTP username.
    • Password: Your FTP password.
    • Port: Usually 21 (default FTP port).
  • Click “Quickconnect” or a similar button to establish the connection.

Step 3 – Deactivate the Current Plugin: If the plugin is currently active, it’s generally recommended to deactivate it before updating to avoid potential conflicts. You can do this from your WordPress dashboard under “Plugins.”

Step 4 Access the Plugin Directory: Once connected, navigate to the wp-content/plugins directory on your server.

Step 5 Upload the New Files:

  • Locate the downloaded update files on your computer.
  • Drag and drop the new files from your computer to the wp-content/plugins/wp-movie-importer-pro directory on your server.
  • If prompted, choose to overwrite any existing files.

Step 6 Reactivate the Plugin (If Deactivated): Go back to your WordPress dashboard’s “Plugins” page. Activate the WP Movie Importer Pro plugin.

Step 7 Verify the Update: Check the plugin’s settings page or information section to confirm that it’s now running the updated version.

Important Notes:

Backup: It’s crucial to create a backup of your WordPress site and database before making any updates. This ensures you can revert back to a working version if something goes wrong.

Check Compatibility: Verify that the new version of WP Movie Importer Pro is compatible with your WordPress version and other plugins to avoid conflicts.

Clear Cache: After updating, clear your browser cache and any caching plugins to ensure you’re seeing the latest changes.

Check for Updates Regularly: Keep your plugins and WordPress core updated to benefit from bug fixes, security patches, and new features.
